Interior Restoration of a 1968 Airstream

With a mouse infestation beneath the wall panels, mold in the floor boards and a water leak in the window seals, the creative genius behind this silver bullet had her hands full.
Paneling and fiberglass removed and replaced with foil-faced rigid insulation
Strips of wood to replace the fiberglass paneling that was used to strengthen each end
Decorative Thermoplastic Backsplash Panels applied to the walls and ceiling
Recycled maple planks from an old basketball court
But with the know-how, a good eye, strong ambition and the right materials and resources...
Viola!

Now here's the question we all have to ask ourselves: Do you have the patience to take every piece of decor down each time you get on the road? This is a common problem of function versus form. How much of this would survive a mere speed bump, let alone a fender bender. My hat's off to the designer for creating a space for the traveling dweller's spirit to frolic and dream in for weeks, maybe months on end but the inner cynic in me has an image of the driver furiously chucking vases and tea pots out the window after cleaning up the carcasses of broken spouts and shattered picture frames one too many times.  I tried to get an interview with the driver but the site wouldn't supply any contact information for me.
